Terms of Use
Last updated 31 July 2026
Outside Lines PNW, LLC (“Outside Lines PNW”, “we”, “us”) operates this fishing planning and content site. The Fishability Index Engine (“the Engine”) produces a score intended to help you think about whether a fishing trip is worth taking. By using this site you agree to what follows.
1. What this service is
The Engine takes information about a fishery, a species, and conditions, and returns a score from 0 to 100 with a recommendation tier. It is an opinion generator built on assumptions, offered to help you plan. It is educational and informational only.
The Engine does not currently draw on a live data feed. Scores are produced from inputs supplied by a person, and the accuracy of any score depends entirely on the accuracy of those inputs.
2. It is not a safety determination
This is the most important term on this page.
A score of “Go” is not a statement that conditions are safe. A score of “Wait” is not a statement that they are unsafe. The Engine cannot see the water you are standing next to. It does not know your boat, your experience, your crew, your equipment, or what the weather has done in the last hour.
Boating, wading, and fishing carry a genuine risk of injury and death. You are solely responsible for deciding whether to go out, and for getting home. Always check current marine and weather forecasts, official advisories and warnings, and the actual conditions in front of you before making that decision. Wear a personal flotation device.
Nothing on this site substitutes for your own judgment, local knowledge, formal training, or official government sources.
3. Regulations are your responsibility
Fishing regulations in Washington and elsewhere are complex, vary by water and species, and change — sometimes with little notice through emergency rules. Seasons close early. Areas close entirely. Limits change mid-season.
Any regulatory information on this site may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. You must verify current regulations yourself with the relevant authority — for Washington, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife — before fishing. You are responsible for holding the correct licences and endorsements and for complying with all applicable rules.
4. No warranty
This site and the Engine are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that scores will be accurate, that information will be current or complete, that the site will be available or uninterrupted, or that using it will improve your fishing or your safety.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Outside Lines PNW, LLC, its members, and its agents are not liable for any injury, death, property damage, loss, citation, fine, or other harm arising from your use of this site or the Engine, or from any decision you make in reliance on it.
This includes decisions about whether to go fishing, where to go, when to go, what water to fish, and whether conditions are suitable.
6. Content you contribute
If you submit trip reports, outcomes, or other content, you keep ownership of it. You grant us permission to store it, to display it where you have chosen to make it visible, and to use it in aggregated and anonymised form to improve the Engine.
You agree not to submit content that is false, that infringes someone else’s rights, or that is unlawful. We may remove content at our discretion.
7. Acceptable use
Don’t attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems, scrape it at a scale that degrades service for others, or use it to break the law.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
9. Governing law and contact
Outside Lines PNW, LLC is a limited liability company registered in the State of Washington. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
